I'm liking iGo more than miomap (miomap would yell about needing 12mb of ram free even when i had way more than 12mb free). They look very similar, however iGo seems way more polished. But I still can't get it to work with the GPS without first initializing the intermediary driver, same with miomap.

If you do a soft reset without running any other GPS apps first, does miomap work?

Yes. After a soft reset, I can open MioMap and it will aquire a GPS lock.

I have used google maps, live search and sprintnav. One thing I noticed is if I get a phone call while using google maps or live search it says that I need a data connection and the gps then disconnects. This morning I was using sprintnav and on my way to work my friend called and it never disconnected. I drove for about 22 miles and the gps worked perfectly while on the phone using my bluetooth headset. Pretty cool I thought, but again I am not a gps guru so this kind of stuff gets me excited.

I have GMaps, Live Search, TomTom and Navigon 6. I would have to say my favorite is Navigon. Its probably just because I am a graphics whore and it is far and away the most beautiful. The only problem I have with it is the size of the map file, it is close to 2GB for the US and Canada file. I have not found smaller maps for like west coast or anything so I had to stick it on its own memory card since I didnt feel like letting it eat half my 4Gig. It is also a memory hog and you really cannot run anything else concurrently on the mogul.

For me it depends on what I need it for. If I am just looking for the nearest starbucks or something I will use live or Gmaps to get there. If I am using it like a real navi then I will use Navigon.

You know, I'm not exactly sure to tell you the truth. I usually do not have the volume up. I got sick of it telling me I was driving too fast. I need to go play with the setting to turn that off but because of that I have not turned on the sound. I will check on lunch and let you know.

I love playing with google maps. Its hard for me to really use as a navi cause it doesnt rotate. Maybe i am a retard but i get turned around if i am not heading north on it.

If i am trying to show someone how cool the Mogul is i always show them Live or Google though. I love being able to see the sat map move with the car. Cool as hell.

personally im not a fan of google maps. Yeah its cool when u wanna show it off but other than that its useless to me. For instance if i need directions somewhere, it will give me the route, and will follow me, but not advance thru the directions unless i tap on the screen and make it go to the next instruction..not useful when youre going into unfamiliar territory.

live search works well with turn by turn directions, WHEN IT WORKS. there have been several instances where Live cant acquire the GPS signal, even if Gmaps is opened first and is locked to a few sats.

even though sprints nav software rocks, i refuse to pay those bishes 10 a month for it..how much did i pay for this phone? how much do i pay them every month>?? right.

I would like software that has big colorful icons(ease of use), locks onto gps sats fast, and can provide clear turn by turn directions maybe even with voice prompts. I dont wanna pay anything for it either. Sounds kinda stupid, but anyone got any recommendations for me?
