My wifi doesn't detect any spots anymore. Not in Starbucks or any other place. My friends mogul detects wifi spots but when i turn on my switch, it shows the blinking arrows for awhile, stop, then a slim tower. I have it to show all available networks. My Rom is 2.0.9. PRL is 1.24. I do not have WMWifiRouter installed on my phone and my power mode setting is Best performance.
I the same setup as NATOSE- I go to Start/settings/connections/wireless LAN. On the Main tab, all fields are disabled so i can not edit any option on the Main tab. I then click on the Advanced tab and see status: disconnected from network. The MAC address is populated, but the IP address is blank. I then click on LEAP tab, and the dialog box is blank. The WiFi toggle is set to on. I then click new and enter the SSID of my wireless router. I have no user name to add but you must add one anyway. I enter the password i have configured for accessing the wireless router with my PC or laptop. I left Domain blank as this field is also blank on the router. Then click the Open System radio button. I then click ok and wallah! Nothing! Last edited by charm1718; 01-28-2008 at 04:12 PM. |

Re: Sprint Mogule by HTC not Auto Recognizing Wifi Networks
I am having the same problem, no matter what WiFi network I am near I see nothing in the SSID list. I do have the wifi turned on to. And the icon appears at the top of the screen noting that wifi is turned on.
Anyways if anyone figures this out let me know. I am going to swing by and talk to the sprint store tomorrow and see what they say.

Re: Sprint Mogule by HTC not Auto Recognizing Wifi Networks
I was originally using my Mogul and have switch to the Touch.
My Mogul has no phone service but the wifi still works and connects to my wireless router. So the problem you guys have is probably a hardware/software issue and not a Sprint connection issue. I still have the original ROM 2.09.651.3 Last edited by kcaegis45; 03-09-2008 at 09:36 PM. |

Re: Sprint Mogule by HTC not Auto Recognizing Wifi Networks
Guys:
I quasi had the same problem. On my router at home, the security that is enabled is WPA-PSK, with MAC address filtering, network key, also I have my SSID set to hidden, and tkip encryption. Make sure you enter the MAC address of your ppc on the your router and set the filtering mode to enable, if you put disable it will lock out that wifi connection and any other wifi connection that tries to connect to that router that does not have permission. Set your MAC# ON YOUR PPC IN YOUR ROUTER!!! That way your router will recognize it as being allowed, then it will assign it an IP address. I sincerely hope that this helps. Happy surfing. Re: Sprint Mogule by HTC not Auto Recognizing Wifi Networks
This thread is kinda good news (for me anyway). I've been on the phone with HTC and Telus going over the same issue for the past week. They're stumped...as am I. My WiFi didn't work at all at first - it could see networks, but couldn't connect. Then I changed the security on my router from WPA-TSK to WEP and it worked....but only at home. I still can't connect to an unsecured network and I can no longer connect to my work's secured network.
I had another handset last year that did the same thing and no one could figure it out. I traded it in and got this one....and now it's doing the same! I haven't added anything new or changed anything for about a month prior to this issue. To reiterate, I can connect at home...just no where else. HELP!
