Call Sprint, ask for Advanced Tech Support. Seeing as every dept. is transfer happy, it won't be hard. You can also say 'Tech' to the IVR to bypass customer service. Once in regular Tech, ask for ATS. The rep needs to check if AN-AAA/EVDO is Disabled or not. They also need to check if it ever provisioned EVDO services in the first place. If it didn't provision or if it's Disabled, you won't get an EVDO signal. The same is true if you aren't in an EVDO-capable area. There are also areas that are EVDO capable, but one of the towers may not be. I've seen this occur quite a bit. Hope this helps!

I called and had my Touch re-provisioned, seemed to help at first........but last night I noticed if I tried to get online when the EV is displayed, it will not connect until it switches to 1X............isn't it supposed to go to 1X as soon as you connect? Also, when I view the debug info, it still shows "failed authentication".

Hey in case you guys are still having problems with this, I can tell you what worked for me with Sprint.

You'll need your unlock code, if you don't have it, you've gotta get it from either Sprint or from one of the tutorials i've seen floating around here and other forums.

1. Sync your titan to back up your data.
2. ##786# Choose edit, enter your unlock code, then choose menu>restore. This will reset everything to factory settings.
3. Reset
3. ##UNLOCKCODE# Again choose edit.
4. Both MDN and MSID should be your wireless number (this was confirmed by Sprint T2 tech support)
5. Reset
6. Call your voicemail to make sure your phone service is working.
7. Connect to the internet. It should trigger IOTA/Provisioning and then EVDO should be working.
8. Resync your shit and you're good to go.

Hope this helps, it worked for me.
