So all you Guinea pigs - how did it go? Did other unmentioned aspects improve (like memory leak, freeze/reset frequency, etc.)?

I guess I'm wondering if I should bother since we're past "early 1Q 2008" and a new ROM is forthcoming -
this one seems very Sprint-derived (as opposed to HTC-derived). But perhaps that distinction doesn't make sense for the Mogul...

I flashed last night and I can't find a single problem with it! Woot!

Everything works. The device is WAY faster/more responsive. No BT drops or bad sound. However, the memory leak is still there. But I don't think it's a memory leak. After talking to a WM dev here at work, there's some RAM tied to caches and services after app starts that you can't get back....and that is intentional on MS's part.

26.14MB of free RAM at idle with no customizations or apps.
20.17MB of free RAM when idle...fresh reboot...all apps stopped....threaded SMS, HTC Home + cusomization app, Live Search, VC 1.6.

After 12 hours, and every app running (8 in list) the RAM dropped to 5MB. Stopped all apps.....RAM climbed to 19.77MB. But the good thing is that when the RAM dropped to 5MB, it didn't slow the performance and responsiveness of the device.

So far, so good.

Exactly, that's what many of us have been saying all along.

That great news... the fact that it recovered almost all the way back to the original 20MB free is a good sign.

Thanks for the report

I'll add one more item that my battery made it through the night after continuously dying in the AM. Could have been notification settings on my part before but the clean install cleared it up. I'd highly recommend the upgrade. Thanks HTC.

I've loaded Voice Command 1.6 on my device but every time I tell it to dial, it gives me a confirmation then it won't listen anymore and it will not dial out. I had that same problem with the last rom. I've installed and uninstalled and re-installed, no luck.. Is there an issue that you guys know about that will cause that?? By the way, the new rom is working better with device.. All I'm waiting on is for the awsome guys from PPCGeeks to strip all the junk and make a cleaner version.

The picture on the website says 2.09 but if you click to download it's actually the new update.

Wy does the phone turn off?

I installed the ROM last night after seeing that it was available. Everything seemed fine and the device seems to work faster....maybe because my caches were starting fresh and not filled up...I dunno.

The main thing that I noticed was that my phone has already shut down once. For some reason it turns off and I either have to press the reset button or pull out the battery to restart it. Wonder what would cause this? It has only happened once so far and gladly the phone has rung a couple of times so I know I can receive calls.

My biggest issue with the phone through all of these ROMS has been that the phone would lock up and when you pressed the power button the phone would ring and then all of the alerts would pop up showing that someone had called earlier. It is like it would get stuck. I haven't seen that but it did turn off once.

I don't understand fully how the radio functions and what the different symbols mean. I have seen Ev, 1X, IOTA, etc. When I try to visit a web site the message comes up that I am calling #777.

If I did have EVDO rev.A what would that symbol look like? I am not even sure if I am getting what I should get. The IOTA appeared when the phone was connected to the computer when I was synching it. Can I still do the phone and the data connections when it says IOTA?

I wish I had a guide for the radio (or whatever the thing is that says Ev, etc.)

Anyway, this one is better than the last. Waiting on 1Q 2008 for my GPS and EVDO rev.A that they promised us.

My request for you developers out there is to get rid of that flashing light saying that the Sprint mother ship is online.

Thanks for the new ROM HTC!

Might not be your issue, but did you turn off confirmation? It doesn't work through Bluetooth.

Start/Settings/Personal/Voice Command. Select "Phone" from the dropdown and tap "Options". Deselect "Confirm when calling by name" and "Confirm when calling by number".

Mods, this is probably worth a sticky in my humble opinion...
