Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
FWIW - I just skipped the section 'Setting PAM (Phone As Modem) as the default dial-up connection' since the option is gone in the new ROM; I followed the remaining steps and worked fine.

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
I can get tethering via internet sharing but I can't get it working with Wmodem. I see that there is one person with similar difficulties. Anybody else? Any work around?

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
I tried this with DCD's 3.0 ROM but it does not work. I have the DCD's 3.0.1 Rom. Have anybody did this hack with this ROM?

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
Hi, I can not make it work with the new ROM either. Worked great with my 2.17 rom.
When I try via USB I first get an end data call message, click on Flight mode, turn flight mode back off, then it tries to connect, but I get Error 680 No Dial Tone. With BT I get Error 633 Modem Already in use or not configured properly. I hope someone can get this working!!! |

I hope so too. I would donate to talynone or DCD if they can make this work for us.

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
Me too!
After hours of trying with no success with this method, PDANET and WMWifirouter with either USB or BT, I was able to get a tethered connection via BT. I went back and removed (or do a hard reset) all of the registry edits back to they way there were at stock install. The only registry edit I went back and completed was the following: Those of you running Sprint ROMs should navigate to the following registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing" and delete the string value named "Extension". After a hard reset, then deleting this entry, I was able to pair my Mogul with my laptop via bluetooth, go to Programs/ Internet connection sharing/ and select Bluetooth DUN-Phone as modem. Then went to the PC bluetooth and selected Join a Bluetooth Personal area network and pick my mogul and connect. The first time it disco'd after 5 min's..once you connect your mogul to the BT, make sure you uncheck the box that says to disco after syncing to save battery power. After that I reconnected, and was on 40 min's with no problems/disco's and good speed. Tried again earlier tonight and no issues. Hopefully this will work until the Wireless modem method on this thread can be updated to work on the new rom as it was flawless!! Good luck.. |

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
How did you get the shortcut to read \windows\wmodem.exe /LAUNCH
When I create the shortcut to wmodem.exe in the start menu, it just reads \windows\wmodem.exe and I can't edit the properties on the mobile device. The wmodem program will not run from a shortcut or by attempting to run it directly from the \windows directory. I assume that's because I'm missing the /LAUNCH argument. If I take the shortcut to a PC and edit the properties and copy it back, it says "not a valid shortcut" just like the one in the zipfile does. gracias, |

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul
Hi,
I have PPC 6800 Sprint Mogul. I was able to use Internet Sharing with my laptop(Windows XP SP2) by means of USB cable. Recently I bought DLINK DBT-120 for providing BT PAN connectivity. I am not using the DLINK provided BT Stack or drivers, rather I am using Windows XP SP2 provided BT Stack. I am able to identify my PPC 6800 and able to create a BT PAN. I am able to add my laptop in my PPC as one of the devices and added it. But when I use Internet sharing using BT PAN and connect, it lasts only for few minutes. It disconnects either because the BT turns off by itself or more so the blue tooth options to set PPC becomes invisble. The only registry edit I have done so far with regard to Internet sharing is deleting the entry 'Extension'. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing] "Extension"="rilphone.dll" Please help. Thanks, Ram0003 |
