Cool. I finally got around to using this but the only thing is that it constantly tells me I have to end a data call first. I can disconnect it but if I'm not quick, my phone will re-establish a phone-as-modem link a few seconds after I end it now. If I disconnect and then immediately start up the WModem program I can beat my mogul to the punch.

edit: never mind. I think it is this emoze program I just installed that will sync with a remote server to push my gmail to my phone. As soon as I disconnected this WModem, it re-established my link to emoze. I think that is what is keeping my data connection on and might be reason to just ditch the program.

Just an update to say that this tutorial still works fine with the new leaked test ROM with GPS+Rev A EVDO. I've tested it with Rev A, and it still works exactly the same, just with better speeds, .

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul

TalynOne, thanks for the credit dude! =)

I have uploaded an OEM for kitchen makers of this WModem program. I'm using it right now as I post this and even using it at the capped 921.6kbps for USB Modem devices, my downstream is over 2.1Mbps and upstream around 730kbps!

I'm loving it. Anyway, the OEM can be found in my folder on the ftp:

ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Titan/Users/ElectronicRice/

Lemme know how it works for you! Just unzip the folder and drop it in the OEM folder. Works great in DCD's new WM6.1 kitchens. Maybe add it to your OP? hehe

Re: Tutorial: USB DUN with "Wireless Modem" app on HTC Mogul

I have been able to get the USB to work, but for the life of me cannot get bluetooth to work. I have a widcomm driver based usb bluetooth adapter.
My computer sees dial up networking available on bluetooth. when I connect I get an error regarding "Error creating 'Dial Up networking' connection with device".

Same thing happens with USBModem.
I can get ICS with bluetooth working.
Can some one give me step by step instructions on how to get this to work with bluetooth. My widcomm driver is 5.0.1.801.
