From what I can tell, I don't think Rev A will give the Mogul much more speed. I don't think the Mogul or any other handheld device has enough performance to push the network. I get about 700 -800Kbps on dslreports, and with my wifi on the Mogul I get about the same.

A coworker has an HP pda, the vga one with a 624MHz cpu, he get's 1500Kbps on wifi through dslreports. I just think Rev A wont be this almighty huge speed jump.

Now, I do see getting more consistent speeds, currently I've seen my Mogul net speed go down to ~300Kpbs during peek hours. Also, if you have a laptop and get the Rev A PC card for it, you will see higher speeds.

I'm just saying, "Don't get your hopes up that Rev A is going to give you some huge boost in speed.

Rev A will have a significant effect on latency (which is killing perceived speed), as well as upload speeds (300-400kbps vs 1xRTT's 80-100kbps used for Ev-DO Rev 0. Ev-DO Rev 0 only works downsteam; upstream still work over a 1xRTT interface as per the specification), which will help those of us who use the Mogul to tether.

Heard it from another you been messin' around

When I tether my Mogul, I was getting speeds of 1.4 and 1.5 mb/s a couple weeks ago (via dsl reports).

Also, the RevA spec improves theoretical peek download speeds (channel capacity is improved), so, it is within the releam of the feasible, download speeds may improve.

Well we are talking about Rev. A EVDO which will basically speed up data transfer, ie. internet.

However, the Mogul could provide navigation through AGPS. It has been hinted that they will enable AGPS to provide navigation through their Telenav service. But nothing official yet...

Well I live in California about 45 mins from LA (with no traffic) I was in LA in Sept. at my cousins house I did a bandwidth speed test on my mogul I got 1.4 mbits / sec. When I'm at home about 45 miles away the speed varys from 400 kb to 680 kb. is it possible that LA already has Rev A or was that just a fluke? I did it 4 times!!!!

I realize that the main thrust of the thread relates to Rev. A EVDO, but the rumored GPS update has also been mentioned in the thread. I've read elsewhere that the Mogul doesn't have the proper hardware for useful GPS navigation. I don't know that for a fact, just repeating what others far more learned than I have stated.
