Re: Stuck buttons

my back button is not 100% stuck but it needs to be FIRMLY pressed to work and is slightly depressed compared to the others, offering no click.

i wonder if it sometimes gets stuck going "back" causing the backlight to remain on once in a while?

this is a really annoyance as i'll eventually need a replacement phone and don't want to deal with customizing it again

i know. i'm sorta hoping to wait out a few weeks and see if Verizon announces a wm 6.53 upgrade to avoid having to set everything up again (after it's inevitably released).

Re: Stuck buttons

I haven't had a stuck button problem yet but: what about replacing the flimsy-sounding plastic spring under the button with a small metal (sturdy) spring? A little poking around your local hardware store/electronics shop/industrial supply should give you a range of small springs to play with. Just a thought.

Re: Stuck buttons

The button face is adhered to a rubber membrane. If you discect the button you will find that the membrane has failed and is causing the problem. Any fix is short term. The quick fix I tried worked until I received my "like new" replacement. Dont wait any longer, start the process today. I also doubt VZ will issue any software updates for this phone, its not a push item like the Droid. We will get better ROMs when cmonex and conflipper have worked their magic.

Re: Stuck buttons

My media key is now stuck. I've had my Imagio since early November and am simply adding input about stuck keys. I'd routed a scroll down function to my media key two weeks ago, and used it for 7 minutes, then next day the key was stuck. I'll be getting a replacement immediately before any additional keys freeze up.

Re: Stuck buttons

So it appears that my little "hack" was saving my keys from this problem. I installed my official screen protector this weekend and so I had to remove the hack I put on there before hand. As I removed it I did notice that the buttons on the phone are very "mobile" to say the least. Unfortunately the new screen protector only covers the main portion of the screen up the buttons. So I installed the screen protecter film from my MP3 player to just the button area and used an X-Acto knife to cut the film around the buttons. Perfect fit and the buttons seem VERY stable as compared to before. I don't anticipate experiencing the problems of the buttons sticking or breaking.

I don't think anyone's going to do that. Why would they swap out a phone they didn't sell that probably doesn't even have the verizon logo on it? But I also can't imagine why HTC wouldn't replace a defectiver phone. It should be under warranty.
