they can be fairly technical to build your own although after you do it once or twice it shouldn't be too hard.

usually a couple chefs will release pre-built kitchens where you can select what kinds of programs you would like cooked into your rom a kind of build it yourself. the chef does the hard part and sets up the kitchen for you.

check out the tp2 upgrades forum and look for kitchen releases to get an idea of what the options are.

but do u have to to do on pc or on ur own cell?

you do this on your pc... there is no way to cook a rom on your phone.

I would like the TV out function enabled on our Imagios, this should be possible with a cooked ROM, right?

I don't think so. I've been playing around with that and the world card BCR oem for months and don't think we will get those working on our phones. However, I hope compatible versions surface and I'm wrong.

I don't quite follow what you are referring to. Do you mean that if we install any cooked ROMs (when they are finally made available) then we will not be able to use the Global Mode function of our phones (i.e. use both CDMA and GSM)? Because that is the very reason I bought this phone in the first place, so when I traveled abroad I could still make/receive phone calls, get my email, and use a data connection.

It's in your instruction manual , before you go abroad just call Verizon and tell them you are going abroad and they will unlock your sim card so you can use your phone abroad. Simple.
