Re: Manila Sense 2.1 / 2.5 *Updated Feb 3, 2010*

Just wanted to give some more feedback here, as I have been running with this setup for the past 48 hours.

ROM flashed to 3.04, nice improvement in speed there.
Full 2.5 install, as per the initial post in this thread
- Installed the Disable HTC SMS
- installed the disable SMS notification cab
- installed the MMS fix

I can now receive and send SMS, MMS through HTC Sense.

Overall, the install is very nice, though for some reason, a side effect of one of the cabs I installed, when I am on the main screen of Sense 2.5, and I scroll, I only have placeholders for 9 application links. For some reason, I thought I had more previously.

One problem I did come across, is that after about 36 hours without a reboot, running around 75-80% RAM, my Favorite Contacts photos were messed up on my CONTACTS tab. a soft reset resolved this, but the cause is unexplained.

Also, Everything runs well, unfortunately, does not really account for the ever-present memory leak in WM.

Outstanding items
- AGPS within Sense (Weather, Twitter location, etc)
- SMS notification of unread messages VERY slow to clear
- at times, Sense UI is laggy, especially within Contacts

will update with more as I come across it, Otherwise, I love this.

There are only nine app links on the home screen. I believe there is a cab that has 16 links on it somewhere in this thread.

Re: Manila Sense 2.1 / 2.5 *Updated Feb 3, 2010*

I took two excursions into Sense 2.5 with the 3.04 ROM and I'm sorry to say that after fooling around with it for a few days, I've reverted back to 2.0.

I don't have anything new to report with respect to bugs and such - I've seen the same things many of you all have reported - with maybe a few more nusiances. Things like after replying to a text using the HTC interface, my text entry box gets all jumbled looking and I can't enter text into it. I didn't like how if I return to the home screen after being on another tab even for a minute, my clock time seems to have digressed and flips like mad to catch up.

Bottom line for me is after getting a taste of 2.5 I want it real bad. After being able to play with it the whole look and function is really a step up from 2.0 - I just can't get the interface to respond the way I want it to . . . it almost feels like I just don't have the confidence it's not going to bomb out on me at the worst possible time. So I'm going to shower this thread with thanks and and stay put with 2.0 for a little while longer.

I know music tab rotates on its own but with auto rotation fix the music tab basically rotates twice, once when auto rotation turns and then when the music tab rotates. If you rotate first and the open music tab everything lines up, but if you go to music tab in portrait mode and then turn phone the player rotated and the auto rotation rotated that makes it go crazy...
And about G-Config I was just passing what I decided to do that worked and figured it would be worth sharing..

yeah thats why i told you to delete the tf3d in reg edit that way if you just hard key your rotate you can choose when you want to rotate or not
then again you can delete the audio player in the reg edit and that wont auto rotate

Re: Manila Sense 2.1 / 2.5 *Updated Feb 3, 2010*

Hey everyone you really wont believe this but I think I have identified the possible nature of the lagging issue with Sense 2.5 installation, in the attempt to resolve a little bug it may have lead me to our issue...

Can someone give this a try and verify my findings...
1. Disable Sense UI
2. Browse to HKCU\SOFTWARE\HTC\MANILA\
3. Change - Manila://music.page.hidden
DWORD: from 0 to 1
4. Restart Sense UI

This will disable the Music Tab from Sense UI but it should increase boot and response time (Without Tecksoft Speedboost), after disabling this I notice all lags was gone. Appears that the music search feature was occupying resources and ram.. My ram increased also.

Attached cab for anyone that doesn't know how to use registry editor..
