Well, I would like to be able to do this from my PC using CE RegEditor … hence my question, but so far I’ve been using Total Commander to do this kind of thing… File Explorer won’t do it.

This is the way I have been doing it:

1. If you don’t have a program like Total Commander, you will have to get one. TC is free and it works. Install TC on your phone.

2. Install Active Sync on your PC (I’m running Windows XP… if you’re running Vista you will be using Windows Mobil Device Center) and with a USB cable between your phone and PC, sync them together. In my case, installing active sync on my PC, created a “My Documents” type of folder on my PC desktop.

3. .Put the file you want to copy into the phone’s Windows directory into the “My Documents” folder on your PC (this is the newly created Active Sync folder NOT the PC “My Documents” folder)… it will automatically show up in the “My Documents” folder on your phone.

4. Open Total Commander on your phone and navigate to the “My Documents“ folder there. You will see the file you copied

5. Highlight the file

6. Select File> Copy/Move (bottom of TC screen) and a window will pop up. Select “Tree” from the list.

7. Go down in the tree and select the Windows folder… just highlight it.

8. Press “OK’ at the bottom of the screen.

9. Select Copy or Move from the box and the file will be placed in your Windows Directory.

It sounds more complicated than it is once you get used to navigating around the file structure. Hope this helps.

It doesn't just "show up" on the phone's registry, you are actually seeing and editing the registry in real time. I love CERegEditor because I feel much safer working with a full-sized screen and keyboard when I am making registry changes. I've been using it for years and on at least 3 WinMo phones.

Thank you so much for the clarification. Total Commander is nice of course but, like you, I will feel much better working on a "big screen". My next registry edit will be that way. I can't imagine having to tinker with the phone's registry in a location away from my computer anyway.

Cynteeuh, you might want to take a look at blue_94_trooper's post here too for a better way to edit the registry.

Re: Great Tweaks,Apps,SPB,Themes,ETC..

Thank Keithdupont for this:

2.5 Email Tab for our Imagio
This works as you can see in the screenshot below, the source thread is below as well, I did not make this Kimi made it and Mighty Mike uncompressed the graphics to work on the tp2. I changed the color of the email icons back to the imagio original color, the original cab gives them green highlights.

Re: Great Tweaks,Apps,SPB,Themes,ETC..

Is the 'Disable Verizon SMS Message Sent' cab supposed to remove the little white box that plops up after you send a message?

For me it removed the TouchFlo styled notification box that popped up but not the little white box.

Well, I've been trying to use CERegEditor on my PC to change things in the phones registry but so far it hasn't let me. Something I'm doing wrong? I keep getting access denied pop ups.

I was having the same problem. I used the "unlock registry" option to no avail. it would let me edit- but not save. So i found this as a cool alternative...

It is MyMobiler. Check out the thread. It is working great for me so far (well, it is a little slow but it is working- so that is great). Better than try to edit on the phone that is for sure.

You do have to unlock which is under tools.

I don't even know what the "save" function does. You're editing the registry in real time. Just make your changes and do a soft-reset.

Ok, so it is making the changes on the device even though CReg gives an error message when trying to make the changes? Bc for me, Creg wont even allow me to over write some of the fields on the registry?
