Restore stock recovery img? (unroot)

so i rooted the phone saturday, no issues. monday morn i flashed the new recovery image. cool. flashed modacos rom. thought everthing was cool. didnt realize until about 9pm that night i hadnt received a single text. tried calling my wife, and got a flood of about 20 texts. ok, weird. this morning, im testing the phone at work w/ a buddies iphone. i can send texts no problems. i only receive texts if a make a phone call, and about 20-30 sec into the call they all come flooding in. flashed my nandroid backup, same deal. hard reset phone and wiped my SD (after i backed up to PC), still having the same issue. im not blaming modacos rom for this, i just think my phone has fallen victim to HTC SMS bug. and so far numerous hard resets and reformats have not solved it.

anyway, i want to take the phone in to service tomorrow, to possibly get a replacement, but im afraid if they see the recovery image on there i may be screwed. how do i get the stock one back in there before i take it in (like the winmo relockers)?

Not saying I am wanting to Unroot my phone but. I would like to know this my self.

Someone said that if I just run the STOCK RUU that it will unroot it and back to stock like opening the box again

Any comfirms?

I don't know about unrooting, but someone on here said to text ALL MESSAGES to 9999 and I did it, a free text came back saying all can now be received from sprint. Try that.

what you mean by all can now be received from sprint? receive what?

It said all messages can now be received. I figured it couldn't hurt. Try it.

i tried the all messages thing. didnt work. i also noticed that i havent been receiving calls. my wife had told me she had tried to call a couple times and got my vm but i figured it was on the day i was flashing by phone, it was in recovery mode or somethin. but i tested myself several times and no incoming calls.

I was about to flash the stock RUU but gave sprint service a call. had me reset my phone, didnt work. they reprovisioned my services and then reactivated my phone. everything came in after that. calls and sms working fine. reflashed modaco rom, and everything is still working great.

i kinda think it may have been tied to the Backup for Root program. i ran a backup before formatting and upgrading my phone, and i noticed when i tried to restore it hung up. i restored again and my info was there, but some things were off (contact pics switched around, all my backed up settigns didnt load). i've avoided restoring w/ the program this time and everything is still working. dont know if that was the cause but i dont feel like tempting fate.

I erased too much where when i power on the phone, it said that it has to force close something because of google. so i ran the RUU from sprint and it got me back to factory reset. and i was able to root it again.
