Re: HTC Hero on its way to sprint October 11th?
what worries me is that the hero was mentioned to be sluggish at times due to the weak cpu. I just got me a palm pre that runs toe to toe with the iphone 3gs at 600mhz and I dunno know whether to risk it on a weaker one if I want a hero... We will see come oct. But I'll most likely stick to my pre or maybe get a hero through a third party for a good deal and have both

Go get the hero but the smaller screen and keyboard plus the real sluggish thing ive read all 3 turn me off and to the touch pro 2 But hey wait for it to come on and get it this way there won't be any back orders on the pro 2 like there was with the pro. |

Re: HTC Hero on its way to sprint October 11th?
I'm shying away from the TP2 due to size, but I'll have to handle one to make the final call.
At this point I am between the Pre and the Hero. SERO may play a large role in this, if we can get SERO on the hero (hey that rhymes) It'll be all systems go. |

sprint is claiming to have several Android handsets by the years end.. so you guys might not want to jump right for the Hero...
whats all the hype over android anyways?? my buddys G1 sucks IMO, but hes not a tweaker either, so maybe its just not fun stock

Re: HTC Hero on its way to sprint October 11th?
It was no secret that the G1's o/s had issues to begin with. Google and T-Mo hurried out a few OTA updates to the firmware almost immediately. Think android has evolved some since G1 rolled out and I think Hero is the first of many worthwhile android devices.
Of course if the hardware is not up to par...there is no O/S that can save it. Even for us geekers and all the customization that we put into OUR phones.

Re: HTC Hero on its way to sprint October 11th?
Hmm...TP2 or Hero? I've seen the reviews of the GSM version of the Hero, and it looks like they used an underpowered CPU from the HTC Magic. Of course, HTC makes customized versions of its phones for each carrier, so the Sprint version could very well have a better CPU for all we know.
I wonder if either phone will be available for SERO. If not, TP1 will have to do ![]() |
