The hero is OK but definitely in no way good enough to keep me from gettin the evo

The reviews for the Legend are pretty damn good, except for it being a mid range smart phone. The EVO is more phone then I want, and the legend is a basic upgrade to what I already own. I was never convinced to go from TP to TP2, and the same is true here. The EVO would blow me away, but the legend which is the form factor I want just isn't doing enough.

I would buy both at full retail minus trade in and employee discount, and I can't imagine they will be a big difference in price. The EVO being underpriced at maybe 550-600 and the legend being overpriced at like 450-550.

I really like the Evo (from what I read and know about it) but I think I will stick with my Hero until they make an Evo/HD2 equivalent with a full physical keyboard. I'm sick of all the super phones not having a real keyboard, and that (along with how satisfied I am with my still yet to be rooted Hero) is a good enough reason to not get the Evo. This Hero was bought to try out Android and now I realize I love Android but really miss having a full keyboard (coming from Touch Pro, which had the best keyboard ever since it had CTRL and TAB keys and was such a little computer)

TP to TP2 is a huge upgrade...may not be spec wise but its a whole different experience. If the EVO has too big screen for you why not the Nexus One? the specs are close and screen is a bit smaller and amoled

or maybe the Galaxy S will come to Sprint :/

Only thing I really dont care much for on the hero after handling some other phones is the fact that its kinda slow... especially stock. It's not as bad rooted with a rom on it but stock its slow to me. After I played with the nexus I couldnt go in reverse... only reason im even keeping the hero (for now) is to hold my sprint line open until upgrade.

Is this fact, or a fact you made up? If Sprint released the two devices at the same time (N1 and Evo), they'd push the heck out of the Evo, as 4G is what they want to sell.

Yeah I see deep subsidies for this phone for new activation, I've heard as cheap as 150 for new from sprint rep, which is the same as hd2 price. Just wish there was 4g in my area and it'd be easy choice. Watch this hurt clearwire modem business a lot once its rooted.

the nexus is early summer and the evo is late summer / early fall. Im not making it up, i talked to a sprint rep as well. They won't release both phones at the same time, there is no 4g here in michigan anyways.
