Re: Unrooting Htc Hero
Could this possibly have something to do with the firmware versions? I noticed the RUU version thats available to download is 1.29.651.1 and on my phone its 1.56.651.2. Could that possibly stop the RUU from updating or in this case, downgrading to a lower firmware? Just a thought that crossed my mind.

Re: Unrooting Htc Hero
Oh I do but I usually use a phone for about 30 days before I start flashing...it's the same thing I did with the touch pro...
I'm also just mainly concerned that if sometihng hardware related goes bad sprint won't accept it because I have it rooted and can't get it back to stock. |

To anyone visiting this thread with this issue, please vote here: http://geekfor.me/news/sprint-ruu-fails/
EDIT: I really think this is unrelated but I never thought about the fact that it's a total coincidence on the "with google" phones and maybe some people really are using the wrong RUU? Possibly using the GSM one instead of CDMA. When you run the utility you should see a picture of the CDMA Hero. And it should say version 0.9.7.520 at the top. Is anyone seeing anything different? EDIT 2: Also please let me know what me know the following info off the boot menu. Power the phone off. Hold the volume down button while powering it on: HBOOT: MICROP: RADIO:

Re: Unrooting Htc Hero
No, I tried it a couple of times on numerous occations but I can't seem to get it to respond to the RUU. On geekforme, flipzmode said that it may be due to the fact the most of us have 1.56 software loaded on our phone but weren't not able to downgrade, could also be a error with "With-Google" phones.
