HTC Hero... Worth it?

Ok so I am making the swap from Verizon to Sprint and I have a Verizon Touch Pro 2 but I cannot bring that over to Sprint. So I am looking at the Hero and Android as a new phone.. Those of you that have it, would you suggest it to others as a phone??

Thanks!

Re: HTC Hero... Worth it?

I love it. I was a long time windows mobile guy. Check out my review and the ones of others. It is a little dated as the phone got an update that makes it even better, but you will still get the idea.

I had it and sent it back . The keyboard was terrible, no stylus, couldn't make that quantum leap.

Re: HTC Hero... Worth it?

Long time user of windows mobile and Palm phones. Never going back to either. Android kills both of them! You will be very happy with the hero, a lot of great users on this site will help you with rooting and flashing roms if you choose to undergo that route

Re: HTC Hero... Worth it?

Wow quick responses, thanks for all the help! I am deff leaning towards it as I loved my Touch Pro 2, so HTC is usually the first I look at. I am just new to Android..

I had the diamond, what exactly is better about the diamond keyboard compared to the hero (just wondering since the hero keyboard is much more responsive, not to mention lag issues with the diamond when running apps if you forget to close them out)?

Why would you need a stylus, i've got big fingers and I never fail to hit the button that i'm looking for...

One last question, did they send you from the WinMo forums to protest against android haha

Re: HTC Hero... Worth it?

You don't need a stylus for the Hero as it is capacitive correct?

Re: HTC Hero... Worth it?

of course it is. Also another reason for not needing a stylus is the trackball. If you do find a location which is hard to get to or to small to tap, simply move the trackball to that area and highlight the button you want to click. I've really only used the trackball for the purpose when viewing webpages. Otherwise everything can be done with your fingers (that's what she said)
