Re: HD2 to have ability to upgrade to Windows Mobile 7

I'm not worried about HD2 and a possible upgrade to WinMo 7. I read somewhere today that HD2 owners can get the free upgrade from microsoft.com when it is available.

So I'm not worried if T-mo doesn't upgrade for me, I'll just do it myself.

Bad news. So you go to Mobile World Congress 2010 because Windows Mobile 7 will be unveiled there? Well, Microsoft will disappoint you.

Microsoft to announce date for Windows Mobile 7 at MWC 2010

Alongside the launch of Windows Mobile 6.6 at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2010, Microsoft is also expected to announce a date for the commercial availability of WM7, according to sources familiar with Microsoft's roadmap.

the Asian localizations slated for 2011, said the sources, noting that the late availability of the Asian versions has been interpreted by some market watchers as a delay.

Recent information leaked from LGE and HTC indicates that the two companies are currently developing WM7-based Apollo and Obsession smartphones, respectively.

Re: HD2 to have ability to upgrade to Windows Mobile 7

T-Mobile version of the HD2 the only device that will get an official WM7 upgrade.

T-Mobile HTC HD2 to Have Record Amount of RAM. The fact that the device has 1GB of ROM means that it meets the Chassis 1 requirements for Windows Mobile 7 (which may not mean anything at this point),

Re: HD2 to have ability to upgrade to Windows Mobile 7

Im still gonna get it no matter if it would take a little longer to get the upgrade to WinMo 7. I know with my wifes TP2 the 6.5 update was like maybe 5 days late leaked for the upgrade but it was from the official T-Mo site. Its still gonna be amazing with the processor and ram available running with WinMo. Also I have been tinkering around with cooked roms for a few years now from the site so heck, once its leaked and cooked ill be rooting/unlocking it and trying them out. Gotta love to be ahead of the rest.

Comments on pocketnow.com are stating the pic of WM7 on the HD2 may be fake.. Hopefully, they're wrong.

Re: HD2 to have ability to upgrade to Windows Mobile 7

Microsoft: Windows Phone 7 upgrades will be possible, up to OEMs to make them happen.

Update to Windows Phone 7 Series for the HD2 is possible, its HTC's call,

Microsoft’s Alex Reeve, Director of UK Mobile Business Group, has been questioned whether or not, will see updates to Windows Mobile 7 Series. And here are his thoughts on the matter:

“It's early days yet, and that's really for our hardware partners to think about.
