1) Download and install Astro File Manager from Market. 2) Download and install z4root from xda-developers. 3) Download and install Wireless Tether from Market. 4) Run Superuser; set to temporary root. 5) Run Wireless Tether; set WPA password; enjoy. |

Re: Got mine!
Root was originally the username of an administrative account on a Unix operating system that had full privileges to change or execute anything.
On Android, rooting is a procedure to give oneself full control over the cell phone--including, in this case, the ability to run a WiFi hotspot without paying a special $30/month fee to Sprint. |

Re: Got mine!
Creating a temporary WiFi hotspot is very useful if you want to browse the web on your netbook while eating lunch alone at a restaurant that doesn't offer (or doesn't maintain) free WiFi.

Re: Got mine!
Got mine yesterday. Comign from a MOGUL, you can imagine my delight
You can do wired tethering with PDA net for fee without rooting (or so thers have said). No need to use the wireless tethering, just do wired. Wireless tethering also sucks battery power like no ones business. |
