It was easy.
1) Download and install Astro File Manager from Market.
2) Download and install z4root
from xda-developers.
3) Download and install Wireless Tether from Market.
4) Run Superuser; set to temporary root.
5) Run Wireless Tether; set WPA password; enjoy.
