App2SD apps on MicroSD missing after restore with ClockworkMod recovery
After wiping cache, dalvik cache (no data) and flashing nightly 152, I was getting constant reboots. So I decided to restore a back up I'd done just before flashing, using Clockwork Mod. I unfortunately don't remember what nightly I had prior when I did that back up, but it restored successfully, with one issue. My apps that I had transferred to my microsd card were missing, They're visible in the Settings-Manage Applications area, but I am unable to actually launch via shortcuts on home screen and they do not appear in the app drawer.
I believe I may have found a solution, but I'm not 100% sure on how to implement it. It seems someone else had the exact same issue as me, and was able to resolve the issue. I'm just trying to mimic what he did. He resolution is found here: http://lifein0and1.c...ly-file-system/ The part where I get confused, is in this paragraph: Quote:
Thanks!

Like was said before if I was you I would boot phone up and go to rom manager and flash alternate recovery from CWM to RA and then do the stuff above.

Re: App2SD apps on MicroSD missing after restore with ClockworkMod recovery
No idea what they mean by "tar" either, but as long as your sd card is partitioned then you won't have to do it again and that's where your programs should get loaded to instead of internally to the phone to save you some space on the phone. If I was you I wouldn't worry about it, if you have your sd card partitioned and your rom is up and running like you want then things are good to go, if not I would just flash the rom you want and start over, but that's how I would do it, nothing like a fresh rom running on the phone.

Re: App2SD apps on MicroSD missing after restore with ClockworkMod recovery
If you start over, I suggest making a back up of your apps too. Use Titanium back up, or My Back up ot even OnTheFly Backup.
With On the fly, you are limited to installing everything one by one. As with Titanium unless you have the paid version. |
