I have yet to get above 3mb/s on 4G with a good signal on the device. If I wireless tether to my laptop I have gotten as high as 6mb in the exact same spot.

I would think more device specific or something interconnected with device specificity. I have an evo and am in good 4g areas, but still feel throttled, but I also have a sprint 4g wireless adapter and it uses wimax also but laptop has no issues hitting 13 or higher on the down. I think I have seen t close to 5 on up a few times using the sprint adapter. And even with wireless tether and /or hotspot, I still cannot get great speeds on my laptop until I do wired tether and then the 4g on my phone works awesome as my adapter for the laptop

so just found out that sprint has begun testing 4g in our area lol, pleasant surprise.



from the phone, tethering is being kinda flaky.

um..you sure its the merger and not more people with 4g devices putting load on the server?

as I said HSPA+ is not as efficient as wimax so 1 HSPA+ user load = 2 wimax users in terms of efficiency...
