Re: got humbled by an iPhone
Hmm...13mb down and 6mb up sounds more reasonable for wifi though..so maybe my theory that N is messed up is true :/

Re: got humbled by an iPhone
correct, its actually connecting via N, I had some issues with my old router not wanting to connect to the phone via N, but that's is straightened out so I'll see what out will pull thought wifi. moving a 600 meg video to my nas was slower then i expected.

Re: got humbled by an iPhone
from the desktop, peaked at 32mbps and stayed at 13.
phone, connection 65mpbs to the router, same wan as desktop. peaked at like 10 and doped to 8 retried with N disabled and the results where the same |

Re: got humbled by an iPhone
hmm.the ping went up thats for sure :/...
ok im guessing desktop is wireless too? can you do a test on N disabled on desktop? |

Re: got humbled by an iPhone
desktop is on 1 GigE to the router. ping test isnt fair, the test site was comcast, so i never left their network which after the node is all fiber, it burst to 32mpbs because of there "power boost" feature that gives you a some extra bandwidth to get you off the network. my N netbook will pull close to the same as the desktop normally, in G it doesn't burst as high be stays at about 12-15mbps.
i put the phone in airplane mode and then turned on just wifi, bit better this time. netbook on N, the power boost kicked in longer this time ooooo. upload sucks during the day, my rated speed is 6/1 so it isnt horrible. |

Re: got humbled by an iPhone
In Airplane mode with Wifi on, I get 8.8 and 1.1
I guess Charter is just chinzy with upload.
