Re: Longest trip taken using the Evo's GPS?

12 hour road trip from Memphis to Ann Arbor MI over the holidays. I bypassed all accidents and traffic jams using the gps. I hooked up the Garmin just to compare the two and the Garmin had me going thru St. Louis with 14+ hours! I went through Nashville instead. The most of the time driving the Garmin was "re-routing" me whenever we came to a highway change. After a while I just turned off the garmin due to the sudden shock of hearing the words "RE-ROUTING" while just riding in the truck with the music on low. Kept me alert tho!

I took a 5 hour flight from Washington DC to Panama then another 5 hour flight from Panama to Bolivia. Yes I had the GPS running with google Earth, That does count right..

Re: Longest trip taken using the Evo's GPS?

1306 miles using sprint nav and playing pandora thru car stereo the whole trip. took me 22 hours, everything worked great, except getting pulled over twice on I70 in KS within 100 miles for swerving after hour 17. made many trips of 400+ miles and a few trips of 900 miles. I heavily depend on my nav.

sprint nav plays sounds while pandora plays. google nav will stop pandora, speak directions, then start pandora again (grrrrrrrrrrrrrr).

I drove from Chicago to New York using the Evo. Using google maps worked perfectly, Since I've never been to New York before, I would have got lost with out it. 15 hr trip each way. Best thing is that I don't have to worry about updating maps!

Re: Longest trip taken using the Evo's GPS?

My longest trip has only been around 40-45 minutes. I don't do a lot of long distance traveling. I love the standard Sprint Navigation. The Google Maps Navigation is good, too, but it's not as intuitive and easy to use as the Sprint app, IMO. But, I do love how Google Maps shows you a real life panorama photo of your destination, once you arrive. That's really cool.

I did simialr from BWI to ATL. I was sitting in 1St class next to a very pretty young lady that had never flown before. I noticed her discomfort and started talking to her to keep her mind occupied. Exhausting the conversation, I turn on th GPS and opened up maps. She was fascinated and kept looking out the window and comparing what she saw to what was on the screen. We did this all the way to Atlanta. Since this was only a connector for her, she asked if I wanted to accompany her to San Juan, PR. If I was half my age, I might have taken her up on it.

All my life I thought it was fancy cars and sports! If only I had an EVO in highschool! Who knew?

Re: Longest trip taken using the Evo's GPS?

i thought a fed law requries no cell network to be on while in flight. That's why our phones have airplane mode. they can be on as a handheld device, but the radio can't be on.

Re: Longest trip taken using the Evo's GPS?

Ya. I wanted to oooops before. I did however (in flight mode) turn on a gps app when i had the tp1 to try to get speed, but gps never fixed. (only flown 2x in life, in last year) but would like to see if i get a fix on a flight with evo. Sprint nav shows speed.
