Re: Sprint is huckstering on my phone

Seriously, If this app was 1.99 or 2.99 a month I would consider it. But for 7 bucks?? No way! I will replay my message till I understand it...anywho...

I agree that we should be able to opt out of this add. If they sent a text message once maybe twice a week asking to opt in of this service that would be ok...I mean, they send periodic spam messages anyway so why not this as well. But having this on my screen does piss me off. As for google voice, yeah it's a cool service/app but that's all it is to me. I found my self using stock features because it's there and easy to get to without loading any other apps...but that's only my opinion.

Android with all these adds and banners is starting to remind me of that movie Starship Troopers when they showed the news/adds on the tv screen....."new weapons to kill the bugs?", "would you like to know more?"

Just use Google voice for your voicemail.

There are no ads in the google voice app. Plus once you install it it will integrate with the phone and work just like the stock voice mail program. Just try it. If you don't like it then uninstall it. It's as easy as 123

Re: Sprint is huckstering on my phone

Heck, I stopped paying attention to the button on day 3 of its arrival. Now today after reading it, I looked and it is still there. Maybe this evening I will forget about it. To me it is not a big deal. I look at it as just another add.

Re: Sprint is huckstering on my phone

I can't believe you went on that rant over this stupid button. I didn't even notice it until I read this and forgot about it just as fast. I rarely get a vociemail, but when I do I don't stare at the screen while I listen, getting mad at a button that is just sitting there. It'd be one thing if you had to press it in order to listen to your message, but you don't. Threatening to cancel all of your accounts over it is more than a bit much.

Where are you gonna go? Get over it.

dakidof makes sense. It's just a button. Yeah, most of us hate forced advertising but this is minor. Just let it go. Or like its been said before, switch to gvoice. Its free, easy with more features. Plus you'll get a way of calling internationally at really cheap rates.

Doesn't the Google Voice app require you to (for lack of a better word) delete the regular voice app? Plus your gotta call Sprint to get a code or something right?

Because you rarely get voice mail gives you the right to diss someone else? What if you got a text message from Sprint to buy another service every 5 minutes? That would be less than having it there permanently. You can delete a text message.

This was not a free app that I downloaded. This is part of the core phone. Voice mail is in my contract. I pay for it. Nor was it on the phone at time of purchase. But you think it is minor and not worth pushing back. By not saying anything, you are saying it is okay. Permission by ommission.
