I then spent an hour or so at RS while they kept trying to upgrade me like regular accounts even though I informed them that they would need to call. Needless to say they finally called it in to Sprint and the rep activated the Evo for them.

Out the door the phone was $104 after tax. They are running a special this week in store: $199 for new plans/upgrades - $100 when you trade in ANY working phone. I traded in a 3+ year old T-Mobile SDA. I also have to pay Sprint an $18 "upgrade" fee.

Here's a shortcut.....have them call 1-700-FOR-HELP to get you going with Sprint and SERO. Good luck!
You mean 1 800 FOR HELP?

I just ordered my daughter and EVO through radio shack. What an ordeal but the deal could not be beat.

How the hell did they let u do that? Not fair... damn! Imo they're not supposed to replace your phone with a new version if your old phone is found defective.

Many people got that..I heard some say there was a policy that if you sent it back in like 10 times for defect they give you a new one....don't know if thats true or not though..

It is true... It's called "multi-exchange policy". If your phone is still under warranty and you have to exchange it three or more times due to manufacturer defects, on the fourth consecutive exchange Sprint will allow you to exchange your phone for a "comparable" phone of equal or lessor value. The new phone you receive is at the discretion of Sprint and it's employees. This is a Sprint corporate policy. Don't get any bright ideas. You can be back-charged full retail price of a handset if found that your device was not a manufacturer defect.

Re: To buy HTC EVO or not?

I though eventually they replaced everyone's TP with a TP2 if they were having issues? That thing was a damn mess. That multi-exchange policy is pretty good, although what Sprint considers a "comparable" phone is sometimes way off. Just ask anyone that's tried to get their Samsung Moment replaced.

On-line or by in-store?

I'm going to either do it tonight or tommorrow any tips I would appreciate.
