Yes the samsung takes slightly better pictures when it comes to some colors. But its not like its amazing. Its still a phone. If that's your only reason for picking a phone then you really need to do some research and think twice before deciding. People don't by phones just for the camera.

Last time I checked most reviews stated that the epic felt cheap in your hands. I myself like the bigger screen compared to the epic. Although the epic does have real nice resolution. Its just too bad 2.2 was delayed even longer. If I were picking a phone I would buy it at best buy and try out both phones. Its a matter of preference. Not one phone is better than the other. They both have great and different features.

I had the evo too. Returned it for the epic. The epics screen is mind blowing! And the hummungbird gpu is incredibly fast! I can definately see the difference between the both phones. Epic wins 100%

Sense is much better imo then the interface the samsung uses. Plus there its more custom roms and mods for the evo. I think evo takes great photos. You have to know what you are doing. But if you want better photos get a digital camera.

Re: To buy HTC EVO or not?

all it comes down to is weather you want a smaller screen and a hardware keyboard or a larger screen with no keyboard...day to day routines none of us will even max either processor out to see which is better .. I got my evo because of customer loyalty ..HTC does a great job with there products as well as future software support ...so even thou the screen is better I can't say the same thing for Samsung and neither can the owners of the epic .. plus most of us came from a tp2 with a 3.2mp camera and no flash anything up from that is a step in the right direction lol...besides none of us use our phones for professional photography

Well from day to day usage stock vs stock the Epic is snappier..BUT it might be because of Sense or the rom...the biggest difference is probably the GPU...

Realistically speaking HTC software support has been pretty bad...most of the software support has been the community as always...same can be said about Samsung too...only reason why Froyo came so fast to the EVO was because of pressure from sprint to be first..Out of all the manufacturers though I would say Motorola has the best software support...even though I'm not too fond of their failsafe switches >.>

No one is going to take professional photos on a phone...but there is an obvious difference between the Epic and Evo when taking pictures and video..

No one is forcing you to buy a phone you don't like. In all my years of having htc phones I only had 1 lcd go bad and it was only because it was a refurbished phone. Htc has never let me down but if they have you then switch phones. I used both the epic and the evo and decided with evo. Yes the graphics are slightly better and processor is slightly faster but the evo worked just fine for me plus it didn't feel plasticky in my hands like the epic and I like more features on the evo than the epic. But again if you like epic better than get the epic. No one is forcing anybody. I myself will stick with htc and htc sense over anything samsung comes out with unless they make a drastic change to their ui. But hey, that is just my opinion.
