Re: new evo and bad battery
Batteries do go bad, but not that often. Batteries though do take a bit of conditioning to maintain their health. In addition, if you are in a signal inhibited area, battery life will suffer. Have you noticed what the signal strength is showing and if 3g is routinely showing? No 3g also equals bad battery life. Look here before starting to play with a task manager. I get 6 hours maximum time of use with my Evo due to how I use it and it charges all night long.
As a side note, punctuation/syntax makes reading easier.

Bad siginal will kill battery the phone is always looking for signal. I worked in a home last Friday that had a metal roof. I could not connevt to internet at all so I stopped. After 4 hours battery was at 15% normally I last 10-15 hours.

This will help save your battery, goto : Menu, settings, wireless & networks, mobile networks, uncheck "Enable always on mobile data". You will get a warning and ignore it. This one thing will decrease your battery usage by 50% easy. I have this unchecked and it has not affected any programs I use and my phone is maxed out.

Re: new evo and bad battery
Best thing...Root your phone, then install "SetCPU" and setup profiles to shut down your processor speed, especially when it is turned off. This, along with basic battery suggestions, found with a search, will make a huge difference...I now get well over 12-16 hours of juice, with my normal usage...how YOU USE your phone, will of course dictate maximum battery life...but I have to tell you...I am really impressed with SetCPU (and root in general
![]() If you choose to not root, then search...and ye shall find many good battery tips, like the one above ![]()

Re: new evo and bad battery
Turn on phone, go to home screen. Hold down power button until you see a menu. Select Power Off.
Now plug you phone into a charger and let it charge for four hours. Start phone up and check the battery level. Is it fully charged? If so, the battery is probably Okay. If not, go to Sprint and return your phone because you are under the 30 day warranty. |

Re: new evo and bad battery
If you have not charged and discharged your NEW battery at least 4 or 5 times, it is not fully broken in and will not perform optimally until you do so.
