This is what I thought.......if they ask for an esn, the phone type doesnt come up so maybe one can sneak a non sprint phone over...

We work at some sprint MVNO, but he also got a kind of part time on Verizon, so yesterday he flash that on the evo and then just activate on Verizon, Verizon is a little more flexible with the esns than sprint

That's pretty sweet. For whatever reason, the Droid pro caught my eye and my girlfriend wants the iPhone but we don't want to switch service. Maybe an non carrier specific cdma device can be activated

Re: Evo to Verizon?

sorry but my Evo lost the charge i jumping to my laptop, so do not forget that i said Sprint can make you problems to activate the Droid, unless that you can wright a Sprint ESN on it, PRL and EVDO then you will be able to activate on this side, the easy part will be for your friend that going get your EVO

Re: Evo to Verizon?

Yeah..unlike GSM..CDMA2000 does not use SIM cards so they white list certain ESN and it is illegal to change the ESN by law...only way to get in is to have someone add your ESN to the whitelist database. Its a little easier with Verizon because they allow 1-3 phones on their network that are not in the database and using that loophole...but on sprint its gonna be harder..working at sprint is not gonna cut it unless they are DEEP in...

There was a whole petition to open up carrier locking >.> mostly with CDMA

Re: Evo to Verizon?

When verizon released the crippled touchpro 1 alot of people were buying sprint tp's and activating them on verizon. They have since put a stop to activating foreign(non verizon branded) esns.
