Re: HTC Confirmed OTA Fix for EVO 4G

After applying the OTA my phone ended up in a bootloop. I had to reflash Amon_ra 1.80 and the eng 0.76.2000 bootloader and the phone rebooted correctly. Took a while working after it rebooted. Funny thing is I wasn't expecting anything, but it might be pseudo, it seems even snappierer... haha

FPS2D reports 53 fps

s-still-off.. Reflashed su.2.35.ef.zip to get "superuser" app working.

-CC

EDIT: Those of you that applied the OTA on your previously rooted phone, just flash the superuser app found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=682828

Re: HTC Confirmed OTA Fix for EVO 4G

when I follow the instructions a few pages back, i get an error. This is what it says:

--Installing: SDCARD:update.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
Verifying current system...
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app/AppSharing.odex", "17f61096b3469bef0dae076ecc7025749a723c4d", "a18f3e4da62b1c537c4af74dabeb5f28ec163a07")
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

I am rooted using unrevoked 3.21. any ideas?

Re: HTC Confirmed OTA Fix for EVO 4G

I could live without the "upgraded" speed the update did for me with regards to the interface. Games? pft. I am a professional and I need the device to just perform with data and as a phone.

So far my battery usage is worse then before the update. The trade off for higher FPS was not worth losing ANY battery life.

That happened to me too. Just use the option to install zip file from sdcard then find the update.zip file and try it again. The direct install on the main screen didn't work for me either.
