Even if you are not a tweaker, root offers some opportunities that are otherwise blocked.

Simple tethering (now available to non-root but limited), screen capture, easy access to MSL
And, of course, if you want to explore other roms...

I say rooted becuase it last longer but scarry on loosing 4g and yea i have 4g

Only started having problems once I rooted and Then applied custom kernals. Just rooted and stock work fine.

+1 I flashed my diamond so many times to make up for where it was lacking but haven't rooted my Evo yet, really don't feel like I need to. The main reason I would is for the WiFi tether but my phone is pretty great stock. Reading some of the problems people create for themselves by rooting makes me nervous. I like to tinker and have played with Linux on my laptop for a couple years but it is nice to just have my phone work.
