+1 I flashed my diamond so many times to make up for where it was lacking but haven't rooted my Evo yet, really don't feel like I need to. The main reason I would is for the WiFi tether but my phone is pretty great stock. Reading some of the problems people create for themselves by rooting makes me nervous. I like to tinker and have played with Linux on my laptop for a couple years but it is nice to just have my phone work.
