New Voice Actions on Android 2.2

For those of you having problems getting the old version to uninstall...This is what worked for me.

1. Install Titanium Backup off the market.
2. Enable USB debugging, and open it up.
3. Go to the middle "backup/restore" tab.
4. Hit your search button, and type voice into the filter.
5. Uninstall and delete the voice search app.
6. Reboot.
7. Now go into market and install new voice search app.

Step 6 is crucial for this to work!!!

Obviously it has nothing to do with the users. It is either a hardware issue or a software issue. I can annunciate really well thanks.

Oh...voice dialer understands me 99% of the time. So wtf! I don't get it.

Trying it for an hour and just a few out-right successes. That is not what I call an accuracy rate close to being acceptable. It got Molly's Smokehouse right twice. That was it. It wanted to call a Costco on the mainland, et cetera. If that is success, then that just plain bites.

For me it's very accurate, but I have two BIG gripes:
1. If you say CALL something and it thinks what you said is unambiguous, there's NO confirmation needed before dialing. Even my stupid old Instinct would say "Call Blah?" and expect a YES or NO before dialing.
2. Listen to blah should search your music collection first, rather than always creating a new Pandora channel.

The new voice update worked OK for me but it didnt get it right all of the time. I recently downloaded another voice recognition app and it works like a Charm. It got it right 95% of the time and it's *FREE* I'm using SPRINT EVO FROYO 2.2 *UNROOTED* I'm attaching the .APK and some *FAQ* of all the features it has. If you have updated to FROYO 2.2 Blue-tooth does work with voice activation with this app and the biggest feature that i like is the SAFEREADER, it will read your incoming text and calls and more on your blue-tooth or phone aloud.

Okay here is the weird thing. My friend was over yesterday with his EVO and I told him he needed to download this app. It works great on my device. I can say text a person and the message and it worked just like the video shows.

On his phone, it would never put the persons name in the to but always included it in the message. I even hit the search button on both phones at the same time and spoke my cation so I know I wasn't changing my voice at all. Perfect on mine, totally wrong on his.

The only difference I can think of was he did the official 2.2 update over the air when it was released. I had the .3 update and then when the manual file was put online for version .6 which wiped the whole device and put a clean 2.2 on the phone I went ahead and did that one. That is the only difference I can think off as to why my would work correctly and his wouldn't.

Just curious for people having issues how you updated to Froyo.
