Its two videos, the first one shows you how to get back to stock 2.1, there is no other way to downgrade other that what is in that video. The second video shows you how to root the phone and get you back to a rooted 2.2 or custom rom.

at what point in the process does the become 2.1, cuz all steps in the video end up with a 2.2 root. where do i stop in the process and root the newly downgraded OS and continue with a android 2.1 rooting process....just asking.

When looking at the video you will be at stock 2.1 at the 2 minute mark of the second video, everything after that talks about going to unrevoked website to perform the root and then the flash of the rooted 2.2.

damn took me 2 hours but finally im rootd with 2.2 i got wireless tether back

Just do exactly what they say and you shouldn't have any problems at all.

Id go with simple root after downgrading to 2.1.

there is no need to use that rooted 2.2 after you downgrade to 2.1 , use unrevoked 3 than flash unrevoked forever so it says - off

after that install the stock ruu, than go back install clockwork and than superusers.

you have a stock 2.2 and full root access afterwards.

i found that to be the most stable and i have wifi tether back
