It looks like that video didn't go over alot of details. To root an evo with stock 2.2 you need to first go back to 2.1, root then back to a rooted 2.2 rom, he didn't just root 2.2 he did the same process as everyone else.

This video is the old way to root b4 the OTA 2.2 was release if you download the update sprint sent out (OTA 2.2) then go here to root...there are 2 videos one show u how to go back to 2.1 from the OTA 2.2(which cant be rooted) when ur done doing that then u root 2.1 and flash 2.2 again but now its rooted(2nd video) i did it last night and it works:headbang:

yeah, I usually disagree with everything Poo Poo has to say but he/she is right. I have never had any problems with doing the unrevoked3/forever method. did it on two phones. Woks perfect.

if you dont flash a rom without updated wimax you wont be able to manually update it

It is really taking a long time for ota 2.2 to be rooted. Are they even going to do it or did they give up on it?

The only method I have found is reverting back to 2.1 and then rooting and then going back to a rooted 2.2 rom. I will not revert back. I also checked unrevoked site and they still have not rooted the ota 2.2 update. If you know something I don't know and have the link to it then please share it.
