Re: Rooting 2.2 & Downgrade to 2.1

yes I never rooted before the new method was out and was a unrooted newbie until this method came out. Yes I am still learning...but it did take me 4 hours to do this method. I guess it didn't help that I was out drinking earlier in the evening and decided to root when I came back home, so my 30 minute root turned into a 4 hour root + more drinking

yeah, I usually disagree with everything Poo Poo has to say but he/she is right. I have never had any problems with doing the unrevoked3/forever method. did it on two phones. Woks perfect.

re: All Evo Froyo 2.2 "is it rooted yet" talk [solved]
When you complete part one when it downgrade back to 2.1 you can stop right there. Need it rooted just run unrevoked 3. Then you on shipped rom and Rooted.....

It is really taking a long time for ota 2.2 to be rooted. Are they even going to do it or did they give up on it?

The only method I have found is reverting back to 2.1 and then rooting and then going back to a rooted 2.2 rom. I will not revert back. I also checked unrevoked site and they still have not rooted the ota 2.2 update. If you know something I don't know and have the link to it then please share it.

EDIT: If you get an evo with 2.2 can you root? Yes is the answer so problem solved. I don't think many devs will waste much time on this since the issue has been fixed. Now if sprint released another update to where it breaks the process of reverting back to 2.1 then the devs will be back at trying to figure out another way.

Also if you have an evo with the stock 2.2 "THERE IS NO ROOT AVAILABLE YET" At least with the unrevoked method which is the only method I will use since all I need is to run root programs, not change the rom. Also if you go to the unrevoked website you can see this on the site "At this time, unrevoked3 does NOT work on stock Froyo (Android 2.2) phones." I currently have stock froyo therefore cannot root. Hope that cleared a couple things out. |
