So maybe it is the final, maybe it isn't but just because HTC says it's not final does not mean a whole lot. Guess we will see in a few days.
Yeah...I recall they did the same thing for a Mogul update. I don't think these ROMs just slip out. I think they're using these 'leaks' as advanced testers. Considering the massive amount of 'leaks' HTC has had over the years, they would've plugged them by now. This is a plant, not a leak. HTC is using the user community as free labor to vet firmware. No one could be this bad for as many years with corporate security.

True. The real kicker that should prove it that everyone seems to over look is that SPRINT posted on their website release notes with the same BUILD number as the pending release. So HTC and Sprint aren't communicating even though Sprint is the bag holder on this if things go bad? Come August 3rd, the peeps getting the OTA will have the same version I do. Book it! Then we will come back to this thread and see how it goes from there. Either way, I'm enjoying the release on my phone as it is way better than the 2.1 release.

I swear, HTC leaks this stuff on purpose to see if there are any bugs. That way no bad press can float their way if our phones get messed up.
I have also come to this understanding myself we are unsuspecting lab rats in an experiment. this is the complete and final build of the rom but only so much information can be gained from lab testing so on to phase 2... field testing..They don't want anyone to be aware that this is the final version because now they need actual real world application..everyday use to encounter senerios they wouldnt normally be able to think of to produce in the lab..we have all just become new lab assistants..Interns to be exact..lol. since none of use will be paid for our services..Htc issued those staements so no backlash or public out cry can hold any ground...all they will say is i told you so..then release another final "final" version that complete resolves most if not all of our issues..and they are going to say this is the one we wanted you guys to have all along as if they were themselves already aware of most of these issues..lol classic

Re: DO NOT!! install the leaked HTC froyo

Reading other forums it sounds like this release may have been put on hold. Maybe they found issues with the last non-public release that everyone downloaded. Some say the hold is indefinitely at this point.

Re: DO NOT!! install the leaked HTC froyo

This was the early upgrade to Froyo 2.2. Your phone will do an OTA update to this if it hasn't done it already.

Same here, old thread. This "update" is much older than what you posted as already having on your phone..

Re: DO NOT!! install the leaked HTC froyo

I hear what you say, but this is the best rom I've used on my phone so far. I've had up-times like 30-40 hours without a reboot... and that was only to swap a battery. If this is incomplete, the complete one will be a mind blower!
