HTC warning however should be seriously considered before upgrading and risking bricking the phone. I wonder however if HTC was talking about the earlier build in their warning. I would assume that a final build has already gone out to some developers which may be tweaked if issues are found before Tuesday.
I tried both roms ,there is a *2 issue with one and wireless tether does not work with either one.

that some of us got from HTC website is the final version and again matches up with everything that was on the sprint website regarding the pending release. There were even websites that posted info days ago that there would be a small test bed set up with the official release before the final roll out. Well, I think the file and URL was leaked via the test bed. I believe HTC made that claim due to damage control and the fact that peeps will be modifying it and passing it around claiming that it is the HTC release which again puts HTC in a bad spot.

If you are scared, then hold off and wait for the OTA push. Otherwise, find the file above if you aren't concerned about root access and enjoy the goodness.

So I take it HTC is a bunch of liers? I doubt that highly.

Wouldn't be the first time a company lied because something leaked earlier than they planned. I believe I have also read that when a ROM leaked for the Incredible they said it wasn't final too and then when the final came out it was identical. So maybe it is the final, maybe it isn't but just because HTC says it's not final does not mean a whole lot. Guess we will see in a few days.

Re: DO NOT!! install the leaked HTC froyo

i nstalled it, it works ok, but it sucks! i really dont like it. constant freezing is my main concern. then, the screen rotation is too sensitive, the mms download size has been changed to only 1mb, and many other things.
seriously, WAIT for the official release

Re: DO NOT!! install the leaked HTC froyo

I figure HTC posted it long enough for the Dev community to get a hold of it and then took it down before word leaked out and normal users tried it. Then they sit back and read the forums all weekend to see if there's any last minute issues discovered that would make an official OTA a nightmare.

This way they can hopefully correct anything the Dev scene uncovers before Day One.

It's a win/win, we get to play and they get a mini test run of the release.

Re: DO NOT!! install the leaked HTC froyo

im also not able to use wireless tether but everything else works great. 3g download speed is 2mbps which is faster than before, everything else is faster, flash works better than whatever it was (flash lite or whatever) we had before. Life is good. I wonder if the wireless tether working/not working has anything to do with which app people are using. I used "wireless tether" app... anyone with it working wanna volunteer the name of the app they r using? Mine isnt notifying me that theres a computer connected to the phone even tho the computer says its connected which is probably the problem. phone isnt seeing the connection.
