Re: DO NOT!! install the leaked HTC froyo

Boo Boo there seems to be 2 builds of the EVO 4G Froyo ROM circulating. A .1 and .3 build w/ the latter having a build number identical to what was posted on the Sprint's support page. I don't know what the differences are between them but it would be great to know what build people were trying to install when they encountered issues. HTC warning however should be seriously considered before upgrading and risking bricking the phone. I wonder however if HTC was talking about the earlier build in their warning. I would assume that a final build has already gone out to some developers which may be tweaked if issues are found before Tuesday.

Re: DO NOT!! install the leaked HTC froyo

I just hope when the "Final" version comes out I can update to that, since I already updated today.

I swear, HTC leaks this stuff on purpose to see if there are any bugs. That way no bad press can float their way if our phones get messed up.

He was rooted when he upgraded, and that caused the super-user icon to show up. But super user doesn't work. No wifi tether or titanium backup on this update. (YET)

If you're upgrading from stock to this you should be fine. I haven't run into any problems. It just takes the marketplace a couple hours to populate your installed apps. After that, everything runs awesome.

The update that I downloaded from ava is fine.. titanium backup works fine the problem when I first started was that I didn't have busybox on the phone. So I searched for it and downloaded it and bam its working very well lol laggy on the bat but good to use on daily base IMO.. Oh and its still rooted.. busybox said so
And superuser also works by the way...
Avas Rom ends in a .1

Re: DO NOT!! install the leaked HTC froyo

its running fine withthe .3 but I guess we will see. i would have thought though that updating would have erased the superuser. makes it hard to bring to a store. a update usually wipes it out
