Re: EVRC-B in advanced settings triples my 3G speeds.. why / consequences?

I switched this setting back when the first thread came out. I can report NO CHANGE in my 3G bandwidth speeds. Question? Did you change both settings meaning did you change your "home orig" settings to "evrc-b" and did you also "enable evrc-b"?

On edit:don't forget to select menu then select "commit settings", your evo should then soft reset to make settings stick.

I have 2 evos, 1 has these settings and the other doesn't, both have very similar speeds.

go to the market, install quickboot. you can reboot, or go into recovery or bootloader. Or just turn it off, then back on and see if its still enabled

actually post just above answers my question about enabled sticking. lol. forgot to commit. Thanks for the tip meccadon!

Re: EVRC-B in advanced settings triples my 3G speeds.. why / consequences?

Definately worked for me my speed test results went from 1.67 download .37 upload to 1.81 download and .57 upload, will do an edit tomorrow evening to let you know of any consequences or concerns but right now im in awe lol thanks was given for bringing this new information to light!!

UPDATE: So today is Friday evening so I decided to test the speeds again here is what i got off of the Germantown, WI server (Just north of Milwaukee) 1.86 download and .42 upload, so it seems somewhat consistant to me with the download speed and upload is still kind of variable.

Also, My phone was unplugged at 4:30 am and my battery lasted until around 6:30 pm I had about four 25 min phone calls, uploaded 4 pictures to facebook via htc sense, and some twitter and facebook updates with about 10 txt messages today. So I dont see any consequences to the battery with this so far.
