Re: Cyanogen Roms = Froyo -Mostly Everything Working!!!

Well I definitely agree that the battery is GARBAGE. I put it on last night just to see how i'd like it through the day... I have pretty much everything off and my battery is almost at 60% after coming off the charger at 6 am. Will most definitely be going back to rooted stock when I get off work.

Messaging... you can use the native Froyo one, or yes go with Handcent or ChompSMS is another good one.

As far as Clockwork, I don't use that. I use Amon RA for my Recovery. Someone else who uses Clockwork will have to chime in on that one.

What method of rooting did you use? I'm assuming you are full rooted?
I downloaded that exact Visual Voice Mail, installed it and nothing. It does not recognize any new voice mails or allow me to update it or anything. It's useless.

Messing problem solved! Went with Handcent!

FULL ROOTED. All the way.

Re: Cyanogen Roms = Froyo -Mostly Everything Working!!!

Did you push the .apks in using adb or did you flash a .zip?

I'm also curious about the whole set up with this FroYo ROM...this is why I ask?

It was also said at xda that a battery profile needed to be made up for the EVO for this system, it may have been copied over from the nexus build seeing they are similar...

There are two apks to install for voicemail. One is the voice mail apk (a 1 MB file), and the other is some Sprint Updater apk (very small file). It does not matter the order in which you install them. When I first went into the voice mail app, I got a force close. I was kind of bummed, but then a few minutes later, I got a text message saying my voicemail had been configured successfully. I rarely get voicemails, but the app works. Whenever I boot up my phone, I always get a FC from the updater app.

I just installed the apks vis Astro File Manager.

Tokuzumi is right.

Once you get the VVM installed, open it up. Then go do something else. Within a few minutes you will get a txt saying it has been provisioned.

I don't even have that updater crap installed and mine works fine. btw.

Re: Cyanogen Roms = Froyo -Mostly Everything Working!!!

Could someone please point me in the direction of the post/thread that resolves the issue with Market apps being missing after flashing a custom ROM?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Cyanogen Roms = Froyo -Mostly Everything Working!!!

For those of you who can't live without Sprint VVM, have you ever tried the free service from youmail.com? Combined with the free youmail app in the market it is far superior to the Sprint crap.

You don't have to jump through 20 hoops and hope that it works or get any crazy txt msgs either.

Google Voice has always been top notch for me.

- Transcripts sent straight to my phone, via the free Google Voice app, immediately after a voice mail is left. If I'm in a meeting, not only can I see who called, but I can see what they wanted.

- The ability to save a voice mail as on audio file on both the phone and PC. My ex was absolutely thrilled that I'd set her up with Google voice, because she was able to save audio copies of voice mails after her mom passed away.

- Unlimited custom voice mail greetings that are number specific. My mom wondered why I was addressing her specifically when she got to my voice mail, which was a good laugh.
