Re: Do I have an iPhone or Evo?

people who were rooted were advised not to update because it had the possibly to break the root. people did it anyways and now they are complaining because they did something they werent advised to do.

unrevoked 2 and roms with the new OTA came out like 24 hours later? common sense is not so common these days.

some people are better off just getting an iphone and not having a choice rather then messing it up themselves and crying about it later.

/my 2 cents.

you leave threads like this open and it brings people like me in here. you're laughing at him but you're the dude who can't unroot your phone Also it amazes me that so many people did the update when its a known fact not to do any update from Sprint, so if you're smart enough to root your phone you were smart enough to read "don't install any sprint ota updates" What are you really trying to discuss, we all know you ****** up and comparing android to apple just because YOU can't root your phone is ridiculous. You make it seem like android advertises you will have root access or something like that. you do realize the verizon incredible users waited 2 months to get their root access, just because you were spoiled and got yours before the phone was even released is a blessing but nothing more.

Re: Do I have an iPhone or Evo?

Haha, okay lets say I didn't install the OTA. I would still be thinking the same way. Whether you installed the OTA or not, it doesn't change the fact that HTC/Sprint is acting more like apple. So what were you saying....

Re: Do I have an iPhone or Evo?

My point is that you shouldn't buy a phone EXPECTING root access. people can't buy iphones expecting it to be jailbroken. google is open source, that doesn't mean you have root access to the phone.

Re: Do I have an iPhone or Evo?

I was under the impression once rooted, updates via ota were blocked. i read on ppcg homepage how the recent ota messed up rooting and was shocked to see the update pop up the next day. now it pops up every day and i hit cancel. maybe one day it will be a 2.2 ota so i haven't bothered turning off update.

Theyre more like apple because they actually pushed out an update that fixed the grounding issue and actually enhanced wifi and 4g signals for many? Hell out of here
