Old news. Check in the Evo Accessories sub-forum for some great pointers on batteries, cords, etc.

To have all the radios on, and use the device constantly for 3 hours isn't horrible for the battery to last that long. But the battery will season a bit after a few charge cycles
Yeah but basically what I was saying is that it's ridiculous whether you use it that much or not... A full charge and it's dead in 3 hours doesn't seem to fathomable to me... I send about 15-20 texts in a hour on average, and my TP2 on Mighty's latest ROM will last all day on a completely charged battery, and still have 30-40% at the end of the day... I'm still gettin the Evo but damn I hope these bugs and shit are gone by the time mine comes around...

I have chargers all over! LOL 4 of them. Good thing the Palm Pre and EVO uses the same chargers (minus the touchstone I'll miss)

You can do this by:

~Go to your dialer and press *#*#4636#*#*
~Next you will see a screen and the top option is Phone Information choose that
~Then go to the bottom of that screen and make sure that it says CDMA if not hit the drop down menu and choose it.

I did this with my phone and it was set to gsm once i fixed it my battery life was slightly better. I also did a lot of the suggestions posted in the article that tokuzumi posted.

Welcome aboard!!!
Thank you Pink! Thanks button!

Re: First Day with EVO

Disable friendstream, disable wifi when not needed, disable bluetooth when not needed, turn off auto sync for Facebook, twitter etc..watch your battery life improve. Also you have to remember that the first few charges arn't going to be what you expected. Over time the battery actually conditions itself to your charging habits. People say that there is no effect with Lith Ion batterys, but I beg the differ. I charge my phones the way I was told to do so....which is first time (12hrs), use phone till it completely dies....(charge again for (12hrs)...do this once or twice you will see a difference....atleast I did. My TP2 on the stock battery has lasted me 1day 1/2 or more on moderate use on the Stock 6.5 Sprint rom...no Cooked ROMs at all...no cabs etc...

Thats my experience.. I know going into this phone that it's not going to last as long as some previous phones...It's a minature PC in your pocket..think of it that way...does your Laptop PC last more than average 4-6hrs? Nope...and those use way more energy...and a bigger battery...in the grand scheme of things your getting a pretty damn powerful Phone...with moderate to good battery life...compared to other hardware (Laptops, cameras etc).

Yeah you could almost cook a Egg on that thing. Those phones were horrible...I was upgrade to the TP2 within a few months of having the TP1. I really think HTC made the TP2 to shut up the TP1 people...thats just me though.
