First Day with EVO
Ok let me try this AGAIN SMH....
Ok I been waiting almost a month for my EVO (pre-ordered) until my contract was up to get the "upgrade" price. Went to best buy soon as they opened to pick up my phone. Everything went smooth and painless! ( bye bye palm pre ) Went to Sprint store to pick up 16gig micro sd card...... finally got it home. Charged it up completely..... 2pm unplugged it...... 5pm i get a notice less than 15 percent battery left. Not bad giving the fact..... I ignored the OTA update! (im afraid to do it with all the issues i read) FriendStream on full speed! (twitter FB) GPS on, Bluetooth on (with motospeak and motorola h17txt earpiece) 3 SHORT phone calls (less than 5mins each call) A LOT OF TEXTING!!! ( i avg 20,000 text a month so you do the math on my daily texting LOL) a few app downloads from market, and alot of IMs from yahoo. I'm not complaining!!!!! i never expect to get alot of battery life. Never got good battery from my Palm Pre i just left today. Hope no one gets mad i started this thread. I'm just a "noob" happy to get my EVO :laughing6: Thanks |

Re: First Day with EVO
Welcome! You should look at getting an extended battery to help or just have chargers everywhere.

Re: First Day with EVO
Damn 3 hours is all the battery lasted, from a full charge..!!! I may be thinking twice on gettin an Evo if it's really this bad, I've heard this from tons of people too about the shitty battery...

Re: First Day with EVO

OP, you may want to go here, and tweak your phone to get better battery life. http://www.goodandevo.net/2010/05/20...tery-life.html |
Re: First Day with EVO
You may also want to try making sure your phone is set to cdma and not gsm.
You can do this by: ~Go to your dialer and press *#*#4636#*#* ~Next you will see a screen and the top option is Phone Information choose that ~Then go to the bottom of that screen and make sure that it says CDMA if not hit the drop down menu and choose it. I did this with my phone and it was set to gsm once i fixed it my battery life was slightly better. I also did a lot of the suggestions posted in the article that tokuzumi posted. Welcome aboard!!! |
Re: First Day with EVO
I find the battery life to be better than the TP2. Just consider the heat the TP2 made, that alone is wasted energy. It's not intended to be a heater lol

Re: First Day with EVO
I finally made it to the top of the list and received my EVO. No more TP2. What I did notice tho, the battery from my TP2 is exactly the same size, shape, notches and contacts all identical to the EVO battery, only diff is the color. I plugged EVO
battery into my TP2 and it powered up fine. Has anyone else tried this? Other than that, loving Android....cya WinMo!!! O, I also hit cancel when prompted for the OTA update. |
