Since the threads were consolidated, I decided to post all negatives and positives of the update in the first post. If I missed anything let me know.

- If you update, you can no longer disable sense for the Android 2.1 launcher (settings > apps > manage apps > htc sense > clear defaults/force close/home). Third party launchers still work i think.

That part is incorrect. You can still disable Sense, just that the vanilla Android Launcher is gone now.

Re: All Discussions regarding the OTA update.

I havent seen anyone post results of updating OTA with full root yet so I will.

Full root (not unrevoked), with stock rooted rom. Installed the OTA update yesterday. Rebooted automatically once, only took about 5 minutes to fully install the OTA. No brick. Nothing noticeable changed for me. Everything seems to work as before. Battery life seems to be considerably better when the phone is sleeping. 15 hrs off the charger with little use, a few minutes of streaming music with slacker, about 50 texts and probably 8 hrs of sleep and the batteries at about 70%. Before I'd probably be at about 50%. All apps work as before. Wifi tether still works, shootme still works.

Re: All Discussions regarding the OTA update.

Well theoretically you can disable it FOR the android 2.1 launcher, it's just that the launcher isn't there to activate. I guess my whole problem with the wording is it makes people think that HTC makes it so you can't disable sense. All it would take is for someone to make an apk that installs the standard Android Launcher. So the real change is that Android Launcher is gone, not that sense launcher can't be disabled.

Re: All Discussions regarding the OTA update.

I got the update yesterday and here's what I've noticed:

The orange Qik icon has been replaced with the blue one; not sure if this affects the operation of the app since I don't use it The Quickoffice icon has also changed/seems to be updated.

My Facebook widget seems to be working better now. It updates once an hour just as I have it set to do: before, it seemed to be updating every few minutes, regardless of the setting.

Battery life has been sporadic. Yesterday, after the update (which took about ten minutes), my battery dropped from 80% before the update to 60% after the update. From there, it continued to fall at about the same rate as always. Today, though, the battery seems to be lasting longer: after 5 1/2 hours it is still at 90%. That is with location on; FB, news, stocks, and weather all auto-updating on the home screens; push Gmail on; WiFi off; and the phone sitting in 3-4 bars of 3G coverage.

This is with very light usage (in the past five hours I've read two emails and sent one text), so I don't expect to extrapolate this into 30+ hours of battery life, but I had no issues getting through the day before and now I'm even happier with it.

Re: All Discussions regarding the OTA update.

After the update I noticed that my phone is very sluggish on and off, changing windows, opening up the notification curtain and launching apps.

Any suggestions? (I did pull the battery once).

Thanks.
