Sit tight and be happy you didn't brick your phone.

Re: Update and battery life

My battery was utter shit. Before the update my phone would have a full charge and with in 30 mins of Pandora streaming and a short phone call it would be down to about 60% or would be on the verge of death after 4 hours of stand by (literally no use). Now I can ride around with 4g on, constant data use, and calls and it's working perfectly fine!!!

A repair center might actually be a better option since they might be able to restore a bricked Evo.

XDA apparently has a way to undo todays OTA. And I would suggest when the OTA comes out again, keep waiting. Let the developers work on it first. Too many crash test dummies aren't needed. This isn't the first time this has happened, and won't be the last. I would advise the same patience when Froyo comes out.

Re: did the new OTA break your EVO?

my friends bricked completely stock evo is sitting right next to me. i can confirm that the update is what bricked his phone. auto-update was turned off, and he claims that this was the first update he installed. after the update it was stuck on the evo4G splash screen for a half hour before we pulled the battery. after getting the phone into bootloader mode, it goes through a small system scan (too fast to read) but clearly it says "no image" or "wrong image" on ALL of the files it searches for. it appears to be searching the sd card, but as i said it goes extrememly fast and is hard to read. what i dont understand is that on a WinMo device, if you can get into bootloader mode, you can usually fix a bad flash or major error. this doesnt seem to be the case with android. as a non android user, and only having a basic knowledge of android, can anyone tell me if there is a way to do anything useful in "hboot" or bootloader? i tried the recovery first, and when that didn't work i did a clear storage. neither procedure opted any results. any ideas?

Re: EVO 4G Update - Lost Android Wallpapers??

This is due to HTC removing launcher. :-P

Re: Major bug after update. Affects all programs.

I don't think a hard reset will get rid of the OTA, but there is apparently a way on XDA.

How's 2.2? Notice a speed boost? I'm just waiting till next month for the official update. Although with this kind of history I'm expecting 2.2 to be released with major bugs.

You're waiting for the "official update" next month? Where did you find this information at? I highly doubt we're getting a 2.2 update next month.
