Evo now, or Evo later?

I'll be up for my $150 discount Sept 1st. I keep reading all the threads learning as much as I can about the Evo. So my question is, how serious are some of these "issues"? I have the Tp2 which I really have no issues with. Just as any other geek, I'm getting excited about all the new programs available for android. With those programs and all the other features of the phone, I'm really looking forward to getting the phone. I have the 500+ to buy it out right, but I'm really curious about some of the issues that some seem to have. So, to all those who have it, heck, even those that don't, should I wait till sept 1st? Will there be any hardware issues fixed by then? Or, if I find one before then, should I go ahead and buy it?

I'm really curious if any hardware changes be made by sept. Or ever for the matter? What do you guys think?

Re: Evo now, or Evo later?

if you have the money to throw around, i'd wait another month through some more batches and buy an evo outright. then you can save the upgrade for the next best thing, whether it's Windows Phone 7 or an Android device with 1.x+ GHz processor, if you feel it's worth it.

If you're pressed for money, just wait. You will either get a better EVO or have a better idea of what's around the corner.

Re: Evo now, or Evo later?

i agree...wait till the next batches come out and see if the "issues" get resolved. I myself have the 002 make and it has the screen separation problem, as well as the back battery cover isn't closing all the way. To be honest, I love the phone and the way it works like its supposed to but it seems to be poorly built. Hopefully the next batches that come out will be put together better

Re: Evo now, or Evo later?

I had the TP2 previously and it was a great phone, but the Evo is better. It's more responsive and has a cooler newness to it using Android coming from using WinMo for my smart-phone life. I purchased two, and one was full price, and have no regrets. I wanted to save my upgrade Aug 2010 for something else down the road. I'm knocking on the proverbial wood, but I'm not having any issues with my launch devices....If I do, it has a warranty.

Re: Evo now, or Evo later?

I love my EVO, got it the first day, I have version 0002, and have no problems.. none.

But in your shoes, I'd wait for what might come out from now 'til then..

Re: Evo now, or Evo later?

Thanks for the input. I think I'm gonna try to wait it out. I know thats what I need to do. Cheaper plus, maybe, a better build. But, you know how that go's. Also, the reason I'm askin this is because I went into a best buy mobile store in the mall and he said they had a warehouse full of evo's. This is in the Houston area. I have no idea if he's full of sh*% or not, but thats just what he told me. But, it did get me wondering again, just not enough to pay the guy for him to ship it to me.

Re: Evo now, or Evo later?

Basically its ultimately your choice. Personally, I love my evo ive had mine since the day after launch and i have had no issues what so ever. I think if you really want the evo go for it. Sprint is also coming out with a new android device, the samsung galaxy pro. You could wait til that comes out too. But keep in mind if you get that there will be issues too the hummingbird processor hasnt been "consumer approved" yet. Any newer device is bound to have issues and as the users we are the ones who get to point all of them out. I think do some research and find out what is best for you. Just because we all have evos, it may not be the right decision for you. Good luck.

Re: Evo now, or Evo later?

Honestly the only 'issue' with mine is one LED light bleed at the bottom, that I didn't even know I had until I took my silicon case off. If you put a case on the phone, you should be fine. My $0.02 anyway... Or $0.03 with a Nova screen, in my case.
