I had an mp4 vid on my laptop that I transfered to my phone and the video didn't play but the sound did. fortunately I had the same in another format (and better quality) too. downloaded handbrake and used it to convert it to mp4 then transferred that one to the phone and it plays great. also downloaded an hq vid from youtube on the phone and it plays with no prob too. ya might try downloading handbrake and reconverting your video with it. just do mp4 to mp4 conversion. I've had to do things like that before with other devices for whatever reason. btw I'm using the stock player on the phone.

I'm throwing up my hands. I have tried everything I can think of and all the suggestions on here.

You must be missing something because I watched a DIVX encoded AVI on my EVO last night. No skipping at all either.

The best I found so far is called "Wehzhenghua Player", which is a Chinese-made application. It basically plays pretty much everything you throw at it (including .rm-s) with some minor hitches.

Sadly that app is only available in Chinese and I have contacted the author for authorization to translate it but, haven't heard from him so far.

Look around there are some threads talking about alternative apps to play your videos.

That's the English copy. Keep in mind that the author does not speak English so the English version copies are not always showing up the same day it gets updated.

I like the Videora converter, I use it for my Tivo, Ipod and now they have one specifically for Android.... http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/android/ Will convert just about anything, haven't had anything yet it wouldn't convert.

Try taking the SD card out and putting it back in. Do you have HTC Sync installed?

What you need is Rockplayer.....its a really good video player....plays my .avi perfectly......its on the market....
