Re: Anyone wish they DIDN'T buy an Evo?

I really like my EVO, but I think it's less stable then the Samsung Moment I had. I did get the Moment a few months into it's prodution run, so they did update it.

I have the random reboot problem a least twice a day. My screen does not wake up sometimes, I have to pull the battery.

But, it is awesome for what it does. A few glitches here and there.

My biggest gripe is not it's fault, I can't get used to the on screen keyboard. I have 3 additional ones installed (shape, swype slide ) I think they all are sub par. All are CLOSE .. but each is missing some key things the others have.

That's been the one thing keeping me from pulling the trigger. Maybe they'll release a Pro version at some point with a keyboard. If not, I may have to go the Samsung route with the new S Pro coming out.

Wirelessly posted (Sprint HTC Evo : Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; en-us; Sprint APA9292KT Build/ERE27) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17)

yea lack of keyboard is my major beef. i am alot better but its still slow go. i havent had any dead screens & 1 random reset. battery been great since hard reset as of now but youtube or any video has been anything but good.

By far best device I've owned in terms of features, community/collective development, and 4G.

First Android device after several Win Mo devices and I can say I am not looking back.

Re: Anyone wish they DIDN'T buy an Evo?

I'm a Microsoft fan, but winmo is total garbage. I would like to smash my ole winmo phones. They are an utter insult from the get go . Droid smokes it in every respect. It's good they started from a relatively clean slate with droid, and based it off linux.

Re: Anyone wish they DIDN'T buy an Evo?

i think the better question would be "have you returned your evo?" Phone hasn't even been out a month yet, so why would we be sitting here wishing we didn't get one? I don't think anyone wants to go back to whatever they were using on sprint though. Sprint's lineup has royally sucked this year (until the evo).

I too was with WinMo for years then went to Droid and all that I can say is that the grass is greener on the other side...

Re: Anyone wish they DIDN'T buy an Evo?

17-days in, and still no problems to report with my Evo.

I cringe thinking about going back to WinMo. My TP2 is still active under a Sprint employee account, and I want to hurl that POS at a steel wall at 1,000mph. The lag and the errors. I haven't experienced anything close to lag, since I've switched to the Evo and Android. And of course Android blows WinMo out the water ... that goes without saying.

I may have to go back to my TP2 for a little while because I'm trying to get the Evo activated under my employee account, but from what I was told, I can't do that until mid-July. So I'll have to return this Evo before 30-days and then purchase another one so I can have it on my employee account. I love this phone.

And for those of your complaining about typing with the on-screen keyboard of the Evo ... have any of your tried Swype, yet? I hated the on-screen keyboard until I installed Swype. Now, I can't imagine going back to anything else ... not even a physical keyboard like on the TP2.
