Re: Anyone wish they DIDN'T buy an Evo?
17-days in, and still no problems to report with my Evo.
I cringe thinking about going back to WinMo. My TP2 is still active under a Sprint employee account, and I want to hurl that POS at a steel wall at 1,000mph. The lag and the errors. I haven't experienced anything close to lag, since I've switched to the Evo and Android. And of course Android blows WinMo out the water ... that goes without saying. I may have to go back to my TP2 for a little while because I'm trying to get the Evo activated under my employee account, but from what I was told, I can't do that until mid-July. So I'll have to return this Evo before 30-days and then purchase another one so I can have it on my employee account. I love this phone. And for those of your complaining about typing with the on-screen keyboard of the Evo ... have any of your tried Swype, yet? I hated the on-screen keyboard until I installed Swype. Now, I can't imagine going back to anything else ... not even a physical keyboard like on the TP2.

Re: Anyone wish they DIDN'T buy an Evo?
Again I thank MOST fo you for your mature responses.. the others can go..
I an going to stick it out with Sprint. They made me a nice offer to stick around and when an Android keyboard phone is released I will be picking that up. The Evo, well, you guys enjoy! |

Re: Anyone wish they DIDN'T buy an Evo?
Dude! every single phone has an issue. There is no perfect phone. Don't put all your eggs in the new IPHONE's basket. It is not using 4G internet connect. It is the 4th generation of the iphone family, still you 3g or less connection. Evo is top of the smart phone food chain, software and hardware wide.

Re: Anyone wish they DIDN'T buy an Evo?
I have yet to find any problems with my evo.. maybe i'm not hard on phones or just easy to please... because honestly I never had any problems with my TP that I couldn't deal with or find a fix for. I had that one for 18 months. Like any device they all have their share of little annoyances. But no matter how many problems you have with your device just remember....
It could be worse.. At least its not an Apple |

Re: Anyone wish they DIDN'T buy an Evo?
Return that piece of junk. I don't blame you. For over 5 years htc has screwed us with bad, inferior devices that barely function without having to reset 1 million times a day. And thats just the tip of the iceberg. Along giving us terrible light leaking around the screen devices we have to deal with awful LCD screen that grow white spots or blue spots that eventually forms a beautiful rainbow oil slick that grows along with the anger. Then to top it off..... the first pc with a capacitive screen peels upward. Enough is enough. All aboard the Iphone 4 ship. Ohhhhh boy! I see the angry Evo members foaming at the mouth for reading this post!

I thanked androidtroll for being the polar opposite of what I felt. There always has to be yin to a yang.

Re: Anyone wish they DIDN'T buy an Evo?
And I thank you for not ripping my head off. You should have seen the flood of angry kids I got on a thread I made about the Evo with the issues everyone is having. It was supposed to be only to inform future potential customers about the issues so we who havent bought it can possi ble avoid another awful htc device. But ofcourse.... there were a few who cant stand nothing bad about the evo being mentioned. Oh well. Kids.

No issues here. I love my Evo. After having the Touch Pro and TP2 this phone is everything I was looking for in a phone and more.

Re: Anyone wish they DIDN'T buy an Evo?
Soon to be a Evo owner I currently have the TP2...and I can tell you just from my experience with Android OS and the Evo...it's well worth the change. Yeah the Evo has it's issues but what phone doesn't? The first Gen Iphone had issues (battery life)...and many more. I've always been one to wait a little while before buying new products...and this is a good example. Yeah, I crave the Evo....but do I want to deal with the issues right out the gate? No, I would rather wait it out a little bit and get a device that has been gone over with and taken care of (By HTC) before owning it. HTC is known for great phones, and yes they may have had some issues with this one...but overall in the grand scheme of things..it's a great phone.
I'm currently using the HTC Touch Pro 2...and I have to tell you...I can't wait to leave it (Sell it). I feel sorry for the ones that are having issues with their Evo's...just give it a little time...sooner or later the bugs will be ironed out and you will have a fully functional Evo... |
