Question Touch Screen is Inop when charging with A/C

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I've been a loyal Android user for just over a week now and I must admit--I'm impressed. Like so many others, I'm a recent convert from Windows Mobile.

One question regarding my new phone though.

I've noticed that whenever the phone is charging in the house--plugged into the wall--the touch screen stops responding. I have to unplug the phone to get it to do anything; however, when it's charging in my car--using the cigarette lighter--the touch screen response like I'd expect.

Anybody else noticed this? Anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks,

KCHruby

Although I haven't been experiencing this issue, its probably related to the grounding. This has been effecting many Evos and Incredibles.

I never ever had the grounding issue when the phone is plugged in as it is 100% grounded then

Stealth86, you're very wise.

I had not been using the stock cord because that one's been connected to my computer. I've been using cords that I purchsed seperately.

I just ran a little test and you're right--with the stock A/C adapter and cord, the problem goes away.

Re: Touch Screen is Inop when charging with A/C

Bought a charger of ebay and had this problem. Threw it away and no more problems. Stock charger is the best.

Re: Touch Screen is Inop when charging with A/C

It's kind of a lose-lose situation. The only charger/cord that works is the stock charger but yet the battery life is noticeably short.

Is it just a coincidence or their way of making you buy accessories from them as opposed to just purchasing third party cords? LOL

Thanks to all who have helped. At least now I know the cause.

Re: Touch Screen is Inop when charging with A/C

I found it's the cable that's the culprit, I think. Some people reported the HTC "brick" chargers weren't working, but I bought some thick high quality micro USB cables and they work with all my USB brick chargers.
